For their fifth full-length (and first with Touch And Go), the band met up with Brendan Canty (Fugazi) to iron out a new set of anthems that arrive with a confident and outspoken immediacy. Some songs evoke the melodic spirit of Andy Partridge, Ray Davies, and"Argy Bargy"-era Squeeze, while others clink glasses with The Pogues, while still others find Ted taking his falsetto in new directions with vocals that caress each composition with the greatest delicacy and grace.
Reviews:
We will not make the obvious "prescription" jokes, no matter how easy. We will mention that the Pharmacists hit the studio with Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty to lay down Leo's practically trademarked mix of power-pop, pub rock and a little Irish music of the traditional and the Phil Lynott varieties. For a label that's actually in business!
