Still in her early '20s, Madeleine makes her Atlantic debut with an entrancing collection of blues, country and standards. In addition to her set of original songs, material is drawn from such diverse sources as Edith Piaf, Patsy Cline, Bessie Smith, Fats Waller and the Ziegfeld Follies and thrives under unique and varied instrumentation including marimba, electric guitar, dobro, Hammond B3 organ, plus a studio cast that includes Cyrus Chestnut, Regina Carter and guitarists Vernon Reid and Mark Ribot.
