Guster's playful yet literate, spirited and largely acoustic pop-rock returns with the endearing college favorite's first studio album in three years. Ganging Up on the Sun retains the unconventional, melodic pop craftsmanship and flawless harmonies that have garnered Guster one of the most devoted fan followings in the country.Reviews:
''Ganging Up On The Sun'' is the fifth studio album by rock band Guster. It was released on June 20, 2006; first single "Manifest Destiny" was released in late 2005 and "One Man Wrecking Machine" in March 2006. It is Guster's second studio album with Joe Pisapia, his first as a full member. The title comes from a line in "Manifest Destiny": "The moon and stars are ganging up on the sun."
The album is Guster's most successful release to date, debuting on the Billboard Top 200 Albums at #25 (topping ''Keep It Togethers #35 debut in 2003). It won Album of the Year (Major) at the Boston Music Awards in 2006. - Wikipedia
What did the sun ever do to these guys, other than allow them to live? That one's maybe best left to the liner notes, so in the meantime, watch the unassuming four-piece and their genteel rock continue to diversify.
